Lucinda has been working with children and adults since 1996. Her initial training was in Occupational Therapy. She developed an interest in emotional well-being and mental health early on in her career. Lucinda explored the way families make meaning of their children’s behavioural difficulties in every day life and discovered the important role of body based approaches to arousal regulation.
Her later work took her into acute and community mental health settings with specialisations in autism, intellectual disability and complex trauma. Lucinda did further formal study in directive and non-directive play therapy, filial play and creative arts supervision. She has more recently studied Jungian Sandplay therapy and continues her learning in this area.
Lucinda believes in life long learning and continues her professional development through formal coursework, supervision and self-reflection.
